Degrading groups of people that you feel you are better than is not political speech. Unless we include fascist politics.
Charlie Kirk was a dangerous man. He helped Trump’s White Nationalist cabinet picks, he spoke to our vice president every day for years. He allowed young white men to believe they were becoming obsolete and to fight such injustice. He called children’s casualties by guns a necessary result to keep the 2nd amendment. He was an uneducated militant out to destroy truth and equality.
Please do not tell me that Democratic Ideology has any possible correlation with MAGA’s. You see we react to their hatred. We did not start this so do not tell me that we are a part of this. If anything we were too quiet. We are not the instigators. We did not stand before the nation and call military members suckers and losers. We did not make fun of the disabled. We did not call for an innocent woman to be locked up. We did not call Mexicans, rapists. We do not degrade reporters.
Please, someone, give me an example where Democrats have started political hate in this century. Anytime. And don’t do that Republican/Democrat Party mix-up. Name it. Our reactions have been too nice if anything. By going high when they went low got us here. The terror of truth is screaming at us and we are equal in this? Please. We react to hatred. Because we care. If we resign to their ideology we are finished.
Ask me if I could find middle ground with anyone who supports banning women’s reproductive healthcare, healthcare to millions in need, the abductions of people from their lives by masked terrorists then you are asking me to give into the last piece of democracy we have. They want us in fear. I live in anger and hate. And it feels good. Feels honest. Feels like a normal reaction to injustice and corruption.
Pundits and certain Democratic leaders who suggest we all meet in some sort of La La Land between us is fantasy. There is no place. That sort of belief is what got us here. Don’t shoot people. But don’t pretend we are hateful like them. They hate for power and we respond.
